Collected Works of Mahendralal Sircar, Eugene Lafont and the Science Movement (1860-1910)

Summary

Dr. Mahendralal Sircar (1833-1904) and Father Eugene Lafont (1837-1908) were the earliest science pioneers of modern India, and the co-founders of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS, 1876). The collected works are related to their writings and speeches and the literature pertaining to the science movement (1860-1910) which they led successfully. There are 120 sections in this volume, chronologically arranged, with Raja Rammohun Roy's 1823 letter as the prologue and the 1962 eulogy of Mahendralal by Professor Satyendranath Bose as the epilogue.
