Summary

Two Pakistani women have come together to create this collection of poems and paintings, \'the Dreamer Awakes. From confusion, despair and darkness, they move towards hope, clarity and enlightenment, the paintings and poems complementing each other so finely as to create a unique parallel. This volume contains 37 poems, 51 paintings and one sculpture. Part of the proceeds of this book will go to the Layton Rehmatullah Benevolent Trust (LRBT).

Taken together, Tabinda Chinoy's paintings and Beo Zafar's poems sing in rare visual and artistic harmony - as if each has plumbed similar wells of experience and emotion for inspiration. Both show a refreshing clarity and candor in their work. The Dreamer Awakes is a sumptuous book one will want to leaf through and savor over and over again.
